Have You Caught The Disney+ Bug?

Disney has definitely scored this holiday season with their new streaming service, Disney+, where you can find anything Disney to watch. From classic movies, Disney Channel series favourites, original new series and National Geographic content, they have you completely covered.

No matter what streaming service you had in the past, Disney certainly did not allow other providers to have an extensive library, and, rightly so. But, as its exclusive to anything Disney owned, this means another monthly payment coming out of your wallet to have anything "Disney" streaming to your TV. It's been a month since Disney launched their new media streaming service to North America and it has everyone talking. And when you think about it, it's no surprise as there has never been any service on the market that has offered such a complete Disney collection - which, was the plan all along from Disney.

A month in, and most of the glitches worked out, this service is sure to please any Disney fan, new to old. Whether you are 50 and want to relive your old Disney favourites or you are 5 years young and want Frozen or Moana on repeat, all day, everyday, hour after hour....like my daughter (*please help me*), or you want to catch some new great content like the new live-action Star Wars series, Mandalorian, Disney+ covers all ages and all fan types.

If this wan't enough, Disney is also offering a bundle service of Disney+, Hulu (ad free) and ESPN+ (Coming Shortly to Canada)! With Disney owning 20th Century Fox, Lucas Film, Pixar, Hulu, Blue Sky Studios, and Marvel Studios, and the kitchen sink (LOL) its almost mandatory that you get this new media streaming service so you can have everything under one roof. What Is The Cost If you have ever been into a Disney store and seen their prices for products, you most assuredly have experienced chest pains. However, they haven't followed suit with their streaming service thank goodness: After your 7 Day Free Trial: Disney+ Canada - Monthly: $8.99 Annually: $89 Disney+ Bundle (Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+) - TBA What Are The Requirements? Disney+ will run on virtually anything and supports playback on mobile devices, desktop browsers, game consoles, set-top boxes, and smart TVs. While laptop and desktop computers can use almost all Internet browsers, you cannot view via a browser on other devices like your mobile phone, tablet, TV etc.. You need to use the free Disney+ app for anything other than your laptop and computer. For full details, click here. Content This list is extensive! And they are adding content on a regular basis. While it's far too long of a list to add in this post (you would be scrolling for quite some time) I have put it on a separate page for you to view more easily. Click the button below to view. While the Disney+ library is extensive, its certainly not going to replace other media streaming services you may have like Netflix. So this means that families are having to fork out an additional almost $10 a month to view Disney content. With that being said, since Hulu was purchased by Disney earlier in the year, US based customers can currently bundle Hulu and Disney+ as I mentioned earlier. This bundle is not available in Canada quite yet but Disney has announced that it will be coming to Canadians in early 2020. So, it's very possible that Canadians will soon be able to drop other streaming services to cut their costs yet, have a huge selection of content available for one low price. Currently this bundle is going for $12.99 in the US so still, very reasonable. Here is a great promo spot from Disney for the service:

If you are still on the fence about getting Disney+ they do offer a free 7 day trial so you can decide for yourself. If you have children, this decision is a no-brainer. It is definitely worth the cost. And, one thing it does have over Netflix is that you don't have to pay extra for higher definition content. Disney+ allows you to stream on 4 devices at once and stream any content that is available in 4k. You can even download any show or movie for offline viewing. This is most assuredly an added +. Let me know what you think about #Disney+ and if it has become the main go-to for viewing. One thing I would love to see is a lot more Disney Jr. Channel content but I'm sure that's coming!
